AkzoNobel Acoat selected Titanium NPG is
sponsoring two initiatives designed to impact
important needs within the collision repair
industry: database integrity and industry training.
A total of $3,000 will be donated as seed
investments to spur others to follow.
The first initiative salutes the vast improvements
that Database Enhancement Gateway (DEG) has made in
securing the integrity and accuracy between the
industry’s three database providers. These
improvements are the result of a small group of
passionate individuals working with DEG. The
combined efforts have resulted in significant
billable hours for shops as gaps in databases have
been addressed.
This initiative is scoped to provide a one time
$1000 grant that will be allocated between three
individuals submitting the best ideas for further
database improvements during the 2011 calendar year.
Criteria and the measurement of contribution for
each award will be determined by DEG and the
Titanium Group members through analysis of
improvement logs. Concepts can be submitted
directly to DEG at their website www.DEGWEB.org . In
addition, the Titanium Group will donate $1,000 in
matching funds to DEG in support of their ongoing
efforts and the collision industry at large.
The second initiative honors March Taylor and the
educational fund established in his name. A $1000
donation was made to support the fund and challenges
the industry to recognize the need for growing
qualified staff through ongoing training. Additional
donations can be made to March Taylor Memorial Fund
by calling (509) 543-7773.
“It is our industry, and it will only improve if
everyone take steps to support key initiatives,”
noted Mike Sillay, Manager of North American
Services Manager for AkzoNobel. “We encourage all
members of the industry to follow the lead and
support these two key initiatives.”
