Five CARSTAR locations in Connecticut attained I-CAR Gold status, one of the highest training benchmarks for the collision repair industry.
The recognized facilities are CARSTAR Berlin in Berlin; Ray’s CARSTAR in Bristol; NEC CARSTAR in West Haven; Collision Automotive CARSTAR in East Hartford; and Pete’s CARSTAR in South Windsor.
To earn the Gold Class Professionals designation, all employees who work directly in collision repair or estimating process are required to complete five points of tested training (or about 20 hours). Each employee must complete two additional points annually (about eight hours) for a business location to maintain its Gold Class status.
Consumers should consider I-CAR training, ASE certifications and the latest equipment in evaluating a shop’s ability to make safe repairs, said Lisa Siembab, director of business strategies, CARSTAR Connecticut.
CARSTAR, headquartered in Overland Park, Kan., is the largest franchised group of auto body repair shops in North America. The privately held company has 264 locations in the United States.
