Chief to reveal new product line at Automechanika Chicago

Chief Automotive Technologies will introduce a significant expansion of its product line at Automechanika Chicago. In addition to the frame racks, computerized measuring systems, vehicle anchoring and specification data that collision repair shops rely on every day, Chief will introduce a new line of fusion equipment, including spot welders, MIG/MAG welders and other shop equipment to be unveiled at the show.

Automechanika Chicago takes place April 24 to 26 at McCormick Place West. Chief is in booth #1402.

“Chief equipment, data and training are the foundation of collision repair for thousands of shops every day,” says Bob Holland, director of collision, North and South America. “As vehicle design and repair methods evolve, collision repair shops have to invest in new tools and training to properly repair the latest vehicles. Expanding our product line makes it easy for our customers to get the new equipment they need from the Chief distributors they have long relied on for unmatched service and support.”

Visit Chief in Automechanika booth #1402 for live equipment demonstrations every day during show hours. Chief personnel also will conduct an educational product demonstration on the Collision Product Demo Stage on Saturday, April 25, from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM.

Chief will also take an active role in providing training at the inaugural Automechanika Chicago. Ken Boylan, global training manager for Chief, presents “Steel vs. Aluminum: Fact and Fiction” on Friday, April 24, from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM, and Saturday, April 25, from 8:30 AM to 11:45 AM. This course, which includes curriculum from the new Chief University “Aluminum Damage Analysis and Repair Technology” class, covers the characteristics of both aluminum and steel and how the differences between the two metals can affect a quality repair. Boylan will discuss repair techniques and evolving joining technologies, including friction, stir, laser, hydrosonic welding and other technologies that impact decisions on whether a component is repaired or replaced.
