Snap-on has been recognized as having the “Overall Best Hand Tools in the United States” among its top competitors on the basis of Frost & Sullivan’s independent research, 2008 United States (U.S.) Automotive Technicians’ Choice: Evaluation of Automotive Tools.
In the 2008 survey, 69 percent of technicians ranked Snap-on No. 1 in the hand tool category compared to just 10 percent choosing its nearest competitor.
“We are truly honored to receive Frost & Sullivan’s Automotive Technician’s Choice Award for overall best hand tools in the industry,” says Bryan Hantke, product manager for Snap-on. “Snap-on’s new ratchet with Dual 80® Technology played a key role in our continued dominance in the hand tools category. It’s a unique product and it has become a big hit with service technicians. It’s great to win awards, but when your customers call and send emails to let you know how much they like a tool, there’s no better compliment than that.”
The Snap-on Dual 80® Technology ratchet may look like other ratchets but it has an extremely fine-tooth gear with 80 teeth on a surprisingly compact head - just 1-13/16 inches wide and 1/2 inch deep. The 80 teeth, a new benchmark in its class, provide a smaller ratcheting arc than competitive models.
In combination with the compact head, the Snap-on ratchet with Dual 80® Technology works well in extremely tight quarters, the company adds.
