Why pull? Unfortunately, pushing damage out is very inefficient and can be used only in a limited number of situations. 

Pulling steel is used in collision repair to reverse a physical phenomenon called inertia. Inertia is defined as the pathway of energy through an object while it is in motion. In every automobile collision, inertia travels throughout the vehicle until it gets to the point at which it can no longer travel. The inertia in a collision can create damage ranging from a dent or a ding to a torn crossmember or a convoluted frame rail. 

Paint scratches and door dings can be repaired cosmetically, but for every other type of damage that inertia creates, pulling the metal is the best solution. The process of pulling goes from the basics in equipment and skill to major frame corrections. Let
