ACDelco
Ongoing education is key to staying on top of rapidly changing vehicle technology and is crucial to the success of your business.
ACDelco's "blended learning" approach is designed to minimize the time away from your business for training without sacrificing learning and includes online courses, instructor-led classroom instruction, seminars and online TECHassists for specific technical topics.
All of this training is available at no extra charge to TSS (total service support) members and also will be available at a cost to non-TSS members starting this fall.
ACDelco stresses a holistic training approach, which is why in addition to specific technical training curriculum, ACDelco offers in-depth business management training.
Visit www.acdelcotechconnect.com/training to see the available list of classes, cost per session for non-TSS members and how to enroll.

Federated training programs provide full support for service technicians
Federated recognizes the difficulty in trying to keep pace with constantly changing technology in the automotive industry. Federated links technicians to self-study courses as well as to local and regional training seminars. This allows the technician to set the pace of their educational program.
By clicking on to Federated's Web site, www.federatedautoparts.com, you can link to Federated's training support network, which is designed to improve service-bay efficiency and enhance the productivity of your technicians. With Federated's training support program, you can focus your training dollars to best suit your business needs.
There are numerous benefits associated with Federated's training program, including the Technician Career Development Program, which determines a technician's current skill level and provides ASE® Mini Assessments. Also available are professional hands-on regional courses sponsored by the local Federated WDs and jobbers.
IWD training
Each year, Independent Warehouse Distributors sends 15 Auto Service Technicians to Federal-Mogul for a week of brake and chassis training and 10 ASE technicians to Raybestos for a week of brake and chassis training.
The group sends 15 sales personnel and technicians to WIX filtration school (four days). This year, for the first time, it is sending 10 ASE technicians to Bendix for three days of brake training.
CARQUEST
CARQUEST's Technical Institute offers training for technicians and store owners through CARQUEST Auto Parts stores. The classes feature instructor-led technical training, as well as self-paced and online training.
There also are CTI Business Solutions for facility owners, managers and service consultants and Action Selling for sales professionals. Visit www.carquest.com for a list of training.
