Rather than focus on book-related knowledge, the ASE certification test concentrates on real-world diagnostic and repair procedures approved by industry professionals nationwide. ASE also offers computer-based tests and college credit for certification. Registration for summer computer-based tests begins July 6.

The “myASE” section of the website allows you to view your testing history and update customized, personal information online. The website offers security protection to ensure your testing information remains confidential.

Also note that, if you failed to realize it, June 12 was National Automotive Service Professionals Day.

“We can’t do enough to recognize the men and women who service and maintain the highly complex vehicles upon which we depend for day-to-day transportation,” said Ron Weiner, ASE president. “Their skill and dedication are second to none.”

More than 420,000 ASE-certified professionals can be found throughout the ranks of the automotive industry and aftermarket, from auto parts stores to independent shops and service stations.
