Universal Technical Institute, Inc. (UTI) and CheckMark
Vehicle Safety Services, have announced plans to provide
technical training for 300 potential CheckMark inspectors at
UTI campuses across the United States.
"CheckMark's Periodic Inspection Program (PIP) delivers a
much-needed comprehensive and uniform inspection program to
the commercial transportation industry throughout North
America," said Greg Dickson, vice president of customer
solutions and advanced training for UTI. "UTI is pleased to
partner with CheckMark to help in developing a core group of
qualified inspectors for the advancement of highway
safety."
In addition to the Periodic Inspection Program (PIP), which is
designed to help its customers lower business costs, increase
vehicle availability, and improve safety performance,
CheckMark provides extensive consulting services focused on
the new Compliance Safety Accountability (CSA) regulatory
initiative from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety
Administration, as well as extensive education and training
services.
"With its stellar reputation as a recognized industry leader
in developing focused technical training programs, Universal
Technical Institute was a natural choice when it came time for
CheckMark to select a partner," said Dennis Paul, president of
CheckMark.
UTI will also assist in developing the curriculum for
CheckMark inspectors, which will cover brake systems and heavy
duty truck basics.
