Having been named to Inc. Magazine's "5000 Fastest-Growing
Companies" list last month, the Virginia-based Curry's Auto
Service is also a leader in "green" shop operations. And company
president Matt Curry will be telling attendees at the Tire
Industry Association (TIA) Environmental Symposium how turning
your business green can be good for your image and bottom line.
The Sept. 30-Oct. 2 event takes place at the Ocean City Convention
Center in Ocean City, Md.
In Curry's session, entitled, "Eco-Friendly Tire and Auto Care,"
he will discuss how they have employed a practice of recycling
oils, antifreeze, chemicals, refrigerants, metals, tires, coffee
cups, paper and more. The company even has a fleet of hybrid cars
that customers can use as loaners while their car is being
repaired.
"In just a little over 11 years, Curry's Auto Service has become a
thriving, five-outlet operation that sees the value in 'going
green,'" reports Dick Gust, co-chair of the TIA Environmental
Advisory Council. "If you want to make your operation more
environmentally-friendly, this is an unbelievable opportunity to
learn from not only a leader, but a peer as well."
"Matt Curry and Curry's Auto Service represent the future for the
tire industry with their forward-thinking vision and commitment to
'green' principles," says TIA Executive Vice President Roy
Littlefield. "Attendees of the TIA Environmental Symposium will
have the benefit of learning from not only Matt, but an impressive
roster of other industry leaders."
