Green Grease is challenging the automotive industry to a call to action for support of the Dwarf Athletic Association of America (DAAA).
As a Silver Sponsor, Green Grease recently attended the first annual Amy Roloff Charity Foundation fundraiser near Portland, Ore. Amy Roloff is a television celebrity most noted for the "Little People Big World" television show that airs on The Learning Channel. (TLC). This first ever event was held to raise money for the DAAA.
Founded in 1985, the DAAA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide quality amateur athletic opportunities for persons with dwarfism. The DAAA has recently lost funding from the United States Olympic Committee (USOC).
“This is an extremely important cause that we were honored to support,” says Spencer Mackenzie, CEO of Green Grease. “As a parent with a daughter that has special needs, I am keenly aware of how important these programs are. I am asking my industry colleagues to please consider a donation. Any amount will help both kids and adults continue to excel and compete in athletic competitions. They have very little to look forward to in the form of activities outside of school.”
Whether novice or elite, the DAAA is committed to providing athletes with dwarfism a showcase to demonstrate their prowess in a variety of sports, the opportunity to experience the thrill of competition, and a chance to meet fellow athletes from across the nation and world.
