Lincoln College of Technology, which is owned and operated by Lincoln Educational Services Corporation, and Masters TV have partnered together to televise automotive students restoring one of America’s most popular muscle cars.

Once completed, this tricked out, torqued up restoration and engine rebuild project will go on the auction block allowing students to see their work -- a 1970 Chevelle SS -- purchased and appreciated by the highest bidder.

The project, a brainchild of Masters TV and CTM Media, Inc., was well received by Lincoln Tech, whose automotive training programs use a hands-on approach to teach all aspects of how to repair and maintain today’s vehicles.

“This is a great opportunity for our students,” says Piper Jameson, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Lincoln Educational Services. “This is an educational experience for students to restore an iconic muscle car under the supervision of our ASE, NATEF certified instructors. This hands-on experience is what their training is all about at Lincoln!”

The transmission work is being performed in the Automotive Tech class, while the High Performance department is working on the engine. The complete engine rebuild will be featured on Inside Drag Racing, produced by Masters TV.

Viewers of the Mother’s Polish Car Show Series, also a Masters TV production, will see the body restoration, done by the Collision Repair students. Currently, both shows featuring this project are airing Sunday mornings on Fox Sports Net.

“I am delighted that we have a chance to show America the inside workings of this technical school,” says Ted Jones, president and founder of Masters TV. “This is a small slice of Reality TV at its best. These are real students working on one of America’s most popular muscle cars."

Once completed, this popular muscle car with a 454 LS6 big block, red exterior with black SS stripes and completely restored by students, will go on the auction block in September at Kruse Auctions in Auburn, Ind.

Final exposure of the project will be aired first quarter 2010 and shown on Bidding Wars, a television program highlighting the intense, behind the scenes "Bidding Action" at the Annual Auburn Kruse Fall Collector Car Auction.

Manufacturers such as, OPG, Mallory Ignitions, Mr. Gasket, K&N Filters, Green Grease and HushMat have participated in the project.
