Clean Burn®, manufacturers of energy systems that transform used motor oil into free heat, has become an ENERGY STAR® partner. During testing, the company’s CB-200-CTV (coil tube boiler), met ENERGY STAR guidelines for boilers and has now earned the ENERGY STAR designation. “Everything we do at Clean Burn is focused on energy,” according to Michael Shirk, president and CEO of Clean Burn. “Qualifying for the ENERGY STAR designation is another visual sign that Clean Burn products are ideally suited for use in safely and efficiently disposing of used motor oil. “The CB-200-CTB boiler has a 200,000 BTU input per hour. This unit is an economical workhorse. It can recycle 1.4 gallons of used motor oil per hour and provides a free fuel source to generate hot water. That water can be used in a wide variety of applications, such as ice melt, heating of baseboards, in-floor and shop space, or in car wash facilities.” Clean Burn boilers are uniquely designed for installation flexibility. The CB-200-CTB can be used as a single boiler unit or as part of a combination of boilers working as a larger system. The unit features include: • Three-pass heat exchanger that captures more heat for greater efficiency • Low-mass water design that provides fast start-up and reduces stack heat loss • Patented burner engineered exclusively for used-oil combustion • Pre-plumbed, pre-wired system for easy installation
“Our products are already backed by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and meet all Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements for used-oil recycling,” says Shirk. “We’re proud to now add the ENERGY STAR designation to our CB-200-CTB. With our ENERGY STAR qualified coil tube boiler, businesses can turn used motor oil into a newfound energy source.”
