Transamerican Auto Parts Co. is opening its newest 4 Wheel Parts Performance Center in Meridian, Idaho, marking the company’s 61st outlet and initial entry into the Gem State marketplace. “We’re very excited to be able to locate a store in Idaho,” says Greg Adler, CEO of Transamerican, 4 Wheel Parts’ owner. “With the addition of Idaho, we now operate stores in 18 states,” he notes. “Our plans are to continue reaching new markets each year, with an overall goal to reach 100 stores.” The suburban Meridian operation on East Fairview Avenue will have a 4,000 square-foot showroom with state of the art displays and an 8,000 sq.-ft. service facility. “Entering the Boise market allows us to better serve our core customers who drive trucks and Jeeps, previously only serviced by our mail order and internet divisions,” says Robert Forman, Transamerican’s director of marketing and merchandise. “Our customers will now be able to saving shipping costs and have their purchases installed.” The company sells tires and wheels, suspension systems, drivetrains, accessories and other products for light trucks, Jeeps, SUVs and other four-wheel drive vehicles to consumers at retail locations under the 4 Wheel Parts Performance Centers name along with marketing to more than 4,000 wholesale customers, including specialty auto parts stores, tire and wheel stores, repair and garage shops, internet retailers and jobbers under the Transamerican Wholesale designation. It also sells to consumers and businesses through mail order and Internet operations under the 4 Wheel Parts Wholesalers name. The company additionally operates a manufacturing division that sells tires and wheels, suspension systems and accessories under the Pro Comp brand and Smittybilt name – both through the company’s own distribution channels as well as through third parties.
