LEESBURG, Va. – Thirty-eight automotive professionals who are top scorers on the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification tests were recognized on Nov. 19 at the Fall board meeting of the ASE in San Diego, Calif.
Twenty-four different companies from both OEM and aftermarket segments sponsored the individual technician recognition awards in the auto, truck and collision categories. In addition to looking for top scores on ASE tests, award sponsors examine on-the-job excellence, community service, and other factors when selecting honorees.
The eight technicians ASE recognized in the category of Collision Repair & Refinish include:
• John Payne, Roberts Pontiac GMC, Lee's Summit, Mo. - GM/ASE Master Collision Repair & Refinish Technician of the Year
• Daniel Washburn, Asheville Ford, Hendersonville, N.C. - Ford/ASE Master Collision Repair & Refinish Technician of the Year
• Richard Walsh , Baird GM, Green Lake, Wis. - DuPont/ASE Refinish Technician of the Year
• Jonathan Amos, Hayes Chrysler, Talmo, Ga. - Chrysler/ASE Master Collision Repair & Refinish Technician of the Year
• James Zuege, Williams Auto Body, Kewaunee, Wis. - BodyShop Business/ASE Master Collision Repair & Refinish Technician of the Year
• Richard Knieper, Security Chevrolet, Oceanside, Calif. - PPG/ASE Master Refinish Technician of the Year
• Michael Loy, Mike Loy's Collision, Inc., Eaton, Ohio - Snap-on/ASE Master Collision Repair & Refinish Technician of the Year
• James Lee, Rice Toyota, Winston-Salem, N.C. - Toyota/ASE Master Collision Repair & Refinish Technician of the Year
