Norcross, Ga. — Akzo Nobel has opened its 10th state-of-the-art instruction center in North America. The center located in Chicago is a 4,000-square-foot facility that houses both classroom and simulated hands-on shop environments. This new North American resource was dedicated to the memory of Mike Gunder, a technical manager for Akzo Nobel, who had faithfully represented the company for 18 years until his death in 2005.
Designed by Akzo Nobel's facility design specialists, the new center is equipped with the most current application equipment. In anticipation of the growing movement toward waterborne technologies, all instruction locations have been specifically equipped with an array of application and training materials from the most respected manufacturers in the industry.
"This center embodies the quality and standards that Akzo Nobel represents on a daily basis in the North American market," says Jack Edgin, market manager for Akzo Nobel's Central Market. Edgin continues, "Our employees, our products and our services combine to make us exclusively unique. This building and the learning that will occur here is a tribute to all three."
