According to TSB ITB02-066, when servicing/repairing a rear door window regulator or motor on a 2003 G35 sedan with the ‘auto’ feature, adhere to the following: It is necessary to set the limit switch correctly so the window will open and close completely when using the ‘auto’ function.
Use the service procedure below for instructions on setting the limit switch.
Service procedure:
When servicing or repairing a rear window motor or regulator adhere to the following:Use the instructions in the GW section of the service manual (ESM) for removing the window regulator from the door and separating the motor from the regulator.Use the following steps and the ESM to reinstall the window motor and regulator. With the ‘window motor’ separated form the ‘window regulator’ connect the window motor to the vehicle harness.Turn the ignition ON.While holding the window motor in your hand, use the window switch manual function (do not use the auto function) to run the motor in the ‘up’ direction.Note: If the window motor stops running automatically:Release the switch, then operate it again in the ‘up’ direction.Repeat this until the window motor will continue to run for more than 5 seconds in the ‘up’ direction with the window switch manual function.4.
