During the convention’s closing festivities, the Bendix team was presented with the award for exceptional innovation for its “hardware in the box.” This innovation, inspired by customer needs, contains everything necessary for a brake job – including clips, brake lube, noise insulators, wire sensors and abutment kits – within each premium friction line product.

“Being recognized by the Automotive Distribution Network for product innovation is confirmation that we’re on the right path when it comes to listening to our customers’ needs,” said Jim Kelley, Director of Sales for the Americas, Honeywell Friction Materials. “It’s our job to make their jobs easier.”

Providing innovative products and services to meet customer needs is at the core of the Friction Materials business and is reflected in almost 90 years of history with the Bendix brand. Since introducing the U.S. auto industry to the world’s first four-wheel brake system in 1924, history is marked by an extensive list of Bendix product contributions, patents, and technologies in the automotive, aviation, aerospace and transportation industries.

“Our vendors work hard to meet and exceed our members’ needs, and their efforts are rewarded with this recognition,” said Mike Lambert, President of the Network. “We are pleased to recognize Bendix for its outstanding performance in Innovative Technology.”

Friction Materials LLC, a business unit of Honeywell International Inc., is headquartered in Glinde, Germany. Serving both original equipment and aftermarket customers, products offered include Bendix® and Jurid® friction materials and hard parts.
