Toyo: Dealers to benefit with hiring of Furman as new COO

Marty Furman is the new chief operating officer at Toyo, managing technical services, sales, marketing and pricing. and will report directly to company President and CEO Yasushi Takagi.

“I am pleased to welcome Marty Furman as the first chief operating officer of Toyo Tire U.S.A.,” Takagi says. “He brings a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge, which I believe will greatly benefit our company as well as our dealers.”

Furman has extensive management experience with firms such as Procter & Gamble, Avery Dennison and the Trojan Battery Co. In his recent role as COO at Pentel of America, he led the company to significant internal performance improvements and progressive market share gains, according to Takagi.

His senior executive responsibilities over the years have included all facets of the organization, including finance, business development, marketing, sales, product development, plant management, manufacturing and engineering.

A graduate of the Columbia University Senior Executive Program, Furman received his MBA in finance from Loyola University. He also holds BS degrees in chemistry and chemical engineering from the University of Maryland.
