LAS VEGAS, Oct. 29, 2012—Celebrities of the custom car, motorcycle and drag racing worlds will join PPG at its booth for the 2012 SEMA Show this week.
Artists Bobby Alloway, Dave and Jody Perewitz, Charley Hutton, and Tom and Mitch Kelly will appear at the PPG booth (booth No. 24501) to sign autographs, talk about their painting techniques and how their use of PPG products.
Also appearing will be drag racers John Force, Courtney Force, Mike Neff and Robert Hight from the legendary John Force Racing team.
PPG's booth at this year's exhibit will follow a Country-Western inspired theme with a display of customer cars, motorcycles, paintings, posters and even guitars.
Alloway was inducted into the National Rod & Custom Car Hall of Fame in 2004 and has won an array of distinguished honors including an America's Most Beautiful Roadster award, Goodguys' Street Rod and Street Machine of the Year awards, and a Ridler award. He was named Builder of the Year at the Detroit Autorama in 2011.
Hutton's prolific career includes two Ridler awards, several Street Rod of the Year and Custom Rod of the Year awards, an America's Most Beautiful Roadster award and many other notable prizes. Hutton gained a national reputation with appearances on the Discovery Channel's American Hot Rod, TLC's Overhaulin', and on Hot Rod TV. His shop, Charley Hutton's Color Studio, is located in Nampa, Idaho.
Tom and Mitch Kelly own Kelly & Son: The Crazy Painters, located in Bellflower, Calif. Kelly & Son has turned out numerous specialty, magazine and manufacturer builds of custom cars and trucks, dragsters and motorcycles.
Perewitz, known as the "King of Flames," is one of America's most popular motorcycle builders and customizers. He has appeared on the Discovery Channel and recently began building custom cars. Jody is a key part of the Perewitz team. She designs all the Perewitz brand merchandise, builds bikes and even races them.
The PPG-sponsored John Force Racing team is considered one of the true dynasties in motor sports. Since 1990, the team has won 17 NHRA Funny Car championships with John Force personally claiming 14 titles. Force has also won more than 1,000 rounds of drag racing competition and was inducted into the Motor Sports Hall of Fame in 2008. Team members Neff, Hight and Courtney Force, Force's daughter Courtney, all contribute to the team's winning formula.
