Don Askew

Honorably discharged from the United States Navy in 1969, Askew joined PPG as a coatings development formulator matching colors and formulating paint in the laboratories. He held a number of other positions over the years, which included Manager Technical Service, Director of Training, Director of Industry Relations and Director of Refinish Distribution Programs. He considers his greatest challenge with PPG as the establishment of PPG's Training Network. Under his direction all of PPG's MVP, Platinum and customer training and personal development courses were developed. Askew served more than six years on the I-CAR Education Foundation's Board of Trustees and spent two years in the Chairman's position, was Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Automotive Service Excellence Organization [ASE] and served on the in-service training committee of NATEF. In November 2005, he was inducted into the Collision Industry Hall of Eagles.
