Snap-on Releases New Cordless Angle Grinder

April 20, 2016

April 20, 2016—Snap-on announced Tuesday the new CTGR8855 18V Lithium Cordless Angle Grinder.

The new grinder is similar to the CTGR8850, but features a safety switch that cuts off power if the tool is dropped.

“We looked at a popular tool and wondered how we could enhance it for our customers. Our engineers came up with the CTGR8855,” Rodger Isetts, product manager for Snap-on, said. “Our grinder already defines power and is designed to handle various metal applications. The addition of a safety switch with automatic shut-off is an improvement we know technicians value.”

The grinder features an 18V MonsterLithium 4.0 Ah rechargeable battery, an anti-vibration handle, and an electronic speed stabilizer. It has a seven-position safety guard and automatic cutoff switch to improve safety. It uses 4.5-inch and 5-inch wheels and has a replaceable motor screen.
