Nick’s Auto Body, based in New Castle, Pennsylvania, is finally opening its first location out-of-state after sixty-three years in business and two generations down the line, the Business Journal reports.
Shane Caldararo has been the owner of Nick’s Auto Body for over two years now. Prior to him, his father had run the business since 1996, with his grandfather founding it in 1960. The business has locations in New Castle, Clarion, and Sharon.
Caldararo didn’t originally plan to open another location as they had just recently opened their Sharon store, but when he came upon a collision shop that went up for sale at 690 Bev Road in Boardman, Ohio, he said the opportunity “just kind of fell into our lap.”
Since the building was already being used for collision repair, the moving process was easier than in other locations. With shops in the area being booked out for three months, people driving past the business were already coming in asking for estimates before they were officially open.
“We had two people today already come in,” he said. “We’re on our way, and we are excited. Everyone has gotten to meet each other, and so far it has been good.”
