TomTom has unveiled a Roadside Assistance service for users of
its GPS units and iPhone applications.
Offerings include tire repairs, towing, jump starts, vehicle
lockout services and fuel deliveries.
Available through a partnership with Cross Country Automotive
Services, one of the largest providers of dispatched roadside
assistance in North America, the program will serve both new
and existing clients in the U.S. and Canada, reports Tom
Murray, senior vice president of market development.
"The launch of TomTom's Roadside Assistance program now offers
TomTom users even more reason to go confidently as they head
out on the road," he asserts.
"In addition to delivering the fastest and most accurate
turn-by-turn directions to our users each day, TomTom is
always looking for ways to help drivers reach their
destinations quickly and safely," says Murray.
"As one of the most respected and established motor clubs in
America, we look forward to giving TomTom drivers access to
our award-winning response teams," says Charlie Cavolina,
Cross Country's chief service officer. "With service available
24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days a year, we can
offer TomTom drivers peace of mind no matter when or where
they are driving."
Customers can pay for the option through an annual membership
fee or on a per-incident basis.
