The one-of-a-kind car, which Honda will be giving away in a drawing, is autographed by the members of Paramore. The band will be headlining at each stop of the road show, which begins July 23 in Raleigh, N.C.

Also on the bill are Tegan and Sara, the critically acclaimed identical-twin duo from Canada that has rapidly become an international singing sensation. New Found Glory and Kadawatha are other musical lineups slated to appear at the events.

The Grammy-nominated players in Paramore, who have several chart-topping hits and a Gold Album Award, assisted with creating the prize car’s design.

“Customizing this Honda Civic was an amazing experience,” says lead singer Hayley Williams. “What we ended up with is very ‘us,’ and it expands on some of the imagery from ‘Brand New Eyes.’” (That’s the title of the band’s latest CD. Tegan and Sara’s most recent release – their sixth – is entitled “Sainthood.”)

In addition to the Toyo tires and 18-inch König wheels, the vehicle’s matte orange, maroon and blonde exterior features waves reminiscent of Williams’ flowing hair, he reports. The effect, which required a half-mile of masking tape, was executed by Santini USA with House of Kolor paint.

“Best of all,” continues Williams, “whoever’s driving can always have that hair-blowing-in-the-breeze feeling.”

An airbrushed Paramore logo, surrounded by butterfly wings, graces the hood and runs the length of the Civic. The scheme is accompanied by lyrics from “Brand New Eyes,” plus the members’ autographs and caricatures of their faces drawn by lead guitarist Josh Farro.

The car was lowered two inches all around by KW Suspension/ST Suspension because the band wanted “high style and the best driving experience possible,” according to Williams.

Finishing off the look are a Honda Factory Performance sport muffler, lower front spoiler, larger side skirts, a lower rear spoiler and red LED taillights from Anzo USA.

Interior details include a wrapped steering wheel, shifter and emergency brake handle evoking Williams’ microphone stand. A collection of buttons on the sun visor is much like the one in his personal car. A detailing kit by Mothers is included in the package.

In addition to the Civic, Honda’s giveaway promotion features a Paramore-designed Masi Speciale Fixed LTD Drop Fixie bicycle with a gunmetal gray, black, yellow and orange finish. The bike is “about as cool as pedal power gets,” says Williams.
