The International Tire Exhibition & Conference (ITEC) has selected Cleveland’s I-X Center as the 2010 host of North America’s largest tire show, Sept. 21-23.
As the result of a decision to expand the format of its bi-annual event to include the entire industry, ITEC is moving from its Akron venue to accommodate an expected significant increase in exhibitors and attendees.
“When we began the event in 1994, we had a small, targeted audience, primarily tire manufacturers, and it was a technical conference,” says Bob Simmons, ITEC executive director and founder. “However, last year we decided to include tire dealers, wholesalers and distributors, to complement the technical side and make it a truly all-encompassing tire show.
“Now in 2010, for the first time, ITEC will bring together tire industry professionals – from technology and manufacturing to dealers and distribution channels to retreading and recycling – in a serious, working show environment that will educate and motivate all participants with a content-rich conference program, networking opportunities under one roof in the I-X Center’s world-class exhibit floor and break-out session meeting rooms,” Simmons adds.
“We are honored to host the International Tire Exhibition & Conference’s global event,” notes Robert Peterson, president of the I-X Center. “Northeast Ohio has been the worldwide home of the tire industry for many years, and we are proud to be an extension of that recognition.”
