AIM has increased its supply of new 21SI and 22SI alternators for medium and heavy duty trucks due to strong demand and positive customer feedback.
"Customer confidence in these units has spiked demand and demonstrated that AIM has hit the mark in resolving problems that were inherent with these heavy duty units,” says Gary McQuillen, general manager, AIM.
AIM’s new 21SI and 22SI heavy duty alternators feature correct metal composition and close tolerance fit for low-turn speeds which is important for equipment that operates at low RPMs. In addition, lower turn-on speeds means higher output is available for electrical loads and helps maintain battery charge.
Other features include heavy duty avalanche diodes to carry high load demands and protect circuits against transient high voltage spikes, which otherwise would damage circuits. Extended rotor shaft length helps support a heavy duty 31.5mm rear needle bearing which provides more bearing surface to handle loads due to drive belt tension and higher RPMs. The stator and rotor on the units include high temperature copper windings which hold up to high load demands and provide a higher output curve at all engine speeds. Alternator computer testing with programmable standards set higher than OEM standards has verified this higher performance output charge curve.
All electrical connections and hardware with AIM alternators for heavy duty vehicles have been designed to prevent vibration failures. For more information on AIM, call (800) 366-3246 or visit www.aimpartsonline.com.
