Oil change association names new executive director

David Saddler will be taking over as the Automotive Oil Change Association’s executive director beginning Oct. 1.
Saddler comes to the association after working the past four years for the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) in Arlington, Va. The last two years at AAMVA, he was a senior executive of the association and was responsible for a $3 million dollar budget and a staff of 11.
Prior to his position at AAMVA, Saddler was the associate executive director of the Security Industry Association from 1999 to 2004 and the director of communications at the National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association from 1995 to 1999.
Saddler has extensive experience with helping associations grow, get their message out, and in dealing with legislative issues affecting their members, according to the AOCA. He holds a B.A. in Communications and has spent a significant amount of time interacting with a host of state and federal agencies.
Although Saddler will be taking over Oct. 1, Steve Christie will remain with AOCA for a few weeks to ease the transition.
