Wheel maker Hayes Lemmerz International, Inc. has landed several orders from both new and existing customers.

The company’s plant in Saraburi, Thailand will be producing 16-inch alloy wheels for the Toyota Scion. The new award provides additional volume for Hayes, which is a major Toyota supplier in numerous nations, including Japan and Thailand.

Also, the Thai factory received an order for the production of 14-inch alloy wheels for Nissan (an existing customer), along with 15-inch alloy wheels for a new customer, Autech Japan, Inc., which is a Nissan subsidiary.

“These new business awards demonstrate the belief that both new and existing customers have in the company’s capabilities,” says CEO Curtis J. Clawson. “We are grateful to Toyota, Nissan, Autech and our other customers for their show of confidence in Hayes.”

In May the firm filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and was delisted from the NASDAQ Stock Exchange.

Hayes was able to recently renew and extend an undisclosed amount of European multi-annual contracts with an unnamed international truck manufacturer, according to Clawson.

The company has truck wheel facilities in North and South America, Germany, Turkey and India, and is the world’s largest supplier of steel wheels for truck manufacturers. “We have continued to invest in our truck business in order to provide our global customers with the world-class quality, performance and competitiveness they deserve,” says Pieter Klinkers, vice president of sales and marketing. “We are privileged to have strong relationships with our customers, and we are confident in our ability to continue to provide the support our customers have come to expect.”

The company also supplies automotive powertrain components.

Founded in 1908, Hayes has 23 facilities in 12 countries.
