ROADTODATA and R. L. Polk & Co. have reached an agreement for Polk to acquire a majority interest in ROADTODATA, a growing supplier of automotive price and specifications data. The announcement was jointly made by Stephen Polk, Polk chairman, president and CEO, and John Grant, ROADTODATA CEO and managing director. The venture, to be named Polk ROADTODATA, will provide price and specifications data as well as sales volume information on a global basis. Polk ROADTODATA customers will ultimately have access to a centralized source for reliable data as well as easy-to-access vehicle comparison and data tools. "Our stake in ROADTODATA enables us to provide significant, added value to our customers by expanding our current coverage of global price and specifications data," Polk says. "This expansion of capabilities will ultimately help us leverage our core assets and provide data in a way that will change how customers perceive and use price and specifications information."
