Yokohama-sponsored driver
Chad
George has clinched the
Lucas Oil
Off-Road Racing Series Super Lite title.
George piloted his Funco Motorsports No. 42
Kawasaki/Yokohama Super Lite – outfitted with
off-the-shelf Geolandar A/T-S+ tires – to a
fourth-place finish at Firebird International
Raceway in Chandler, Ariz. to win the 2011
season championship. During the year he won five
races and reached the podium nine out of 15
times.
“It takes three ingredients to win a
championship,” says George, “performance,
reliability and teamwork. That’s what I had with
Yokohama and the Funco team. My Yokohama
Geolandar A/T-S tires hooked up no matter what
the track conditions were, and we didn’t have
one flat tire all year. The teamwork between my
Funco team and Yokohama’s tire technicians
really paid off all year.”
“Chad proved his mettle in a tough Super Lite
class this season,” notes Andrew Briggs,
Yokohama’s senior manager of motorsports.
“He consistently ran in the front of the pack
and had too much for the rest of the field,”
Briggs says. “He and the Funco team did a
fantastic job and the Geolandar A/T-S tires
never let him down. It was a total team effort
and Yokohama is proud to part of the
team.”
