Toyota has selected Hankook as a new original
equipment tire supplier; the automaker's micro-
premium iQ car is among the initial factory
fitments in size 175/65R15 84S.
This is the first time the company is providing
tires to Toyota, which maintains a "strict
approach to quality control and extraordinarily
high tire demands," according to Soo Il Lee,
president of Hankook Tire America Corp.
The company "has successfully satisfied Toyota's
testing, tuning and customizing process criterion,
resulting in a tire that meets the iQ vehicle's
highest standards," he says.
“This latest OE agreement with another leading
global car manufacturer is further testament to
our continued growth, strong brand and investment
in R&D,” says Lee.
“We are continually delivering the latest
technology and highest quality tires to the market
and are very excited to add Toyota to our growing
list of manufacturers,” he adds. “We look forward
to working closely with them to further strengthen
and expand this partnership.”
With the Toyota contract, Hankook is now supplying
all of the global Top Five car manufacturers,
including General Motors, Volkswagen, Renault-
Nissan, Hyundai and BMW.
