Bridgestone's just-released GREATEC R125A wide base
trailer radial has an advanced technological design to
provide more payload, longer tire wear and economical
performance, according to the company.
Equipped with an exclusive belt system to maintain
casing shape, the wide top belt is optimized for better
irregular wear resistance and the Waved Belt design
holds the tread flat against the road for long, even
wear and excellent handling, says product manager Bert
Jones.
The tire uses several innovations that fight irregular
wear and promote a long, even treadlife, including
Bridgestone’s Equalizer Rib structure and Defense Groove
design, he notes. Both sidewalls have protector ribs to
fight curbing, cuts and impacts. It also features a
mineral-additive innerliner to help minimize air loss
and combat oxidation of the steel cords.
“The R125A is the next generation GREATEC trailer tire
for fleets that want increased revenue producing
payload, long wear and lower cost per mile,” says
Jones.
Other features, he notes, include:
- Stone rejector platforms that enhance
retreadabilty by helping keep rocks from embedding in
the tread and damaging the casing.
- Thirsty cross-rib sipes that improve traction on
wet roads.
- Stress-relief sipes that absorb rib edge
stresses and increase mileage.
- Exclusive TIP (Turn-In Ply) design helps reduce
ply end stress and enhance durability.
It comes in size 445/50R22.5 (L) and is available
now.
