Bridgestone is rolling out a drive tire for high
traction and high scrub applications in long haul,
regional and delivery service fitments. The M770, along
with the new M799 mixed service radial and the debut
GREATEC R125A wide base radial, are currently on display
at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas.
The M770 open-shoulder drive axel radial combines
greater tread volume for longer mileage with superb
traction in all weather conditions, according to product
manager Bert Jones.
It features an innovative groove and block shape to
fight lug base cracking and tearing, and for enhanced
retreadability, the tire offers stone rejector platforms
in the grooves to help prevent stones from getting
trapped and drilling into the belts, he notes.
“The M770 is the next generation in open-shoulder drive
tires,” says Jones. “Its wider and deeper tread pattern,
along with the open-shoulder design, delivers
exceptionally long wear life and excellent
traction.”
It comes in four sizes. The 295/75R22.5 (G) is available
now. The 285/75R24.5 (G), 11R22.5 (G/H) and 11R24.5 (G)
are all expected to hit the market early next
year.
