Drink marketer Monster Energy is joining General Tire as a co-
sponsor of the 2010 Best in the Desert championship-winning
'Ballistic' BJ Baldwin and his Trophy Truck, which is also driven
by his father Bobby.
“The addition of Monster Energy to Baldwin Motorsports is the
optimal way to start off the 2011 race season with a bang,” BJ
reports.
This year the pair will compete in the Best in the Desert series,
the SCORE-International series – including the Baja 500 and 1000 –
and the SNORE Mint 400.
The campaign is being launched at the Jan. 14-16 SCORE Laughlin
Desert Challenge in Nevada with the debut of a new glowing green
M-claw emblazoned “Ballistic” BJ Baldwin truck livery.
“Monster Energy’s commitment to the off-road motorsports community
is unprecedented; the addition of the leader in energy drink sales
will certainly elevate our off-road program for this race season
and beyond,” BJ points out, promising “an eventful year” of racing
success.
“We are proud to have Monster Energy on board and look forward to
sharing our unbridled enthusiasm for the brand with the legions of
fans who follow off-road racing and the Baldwin Motorsports
program,” he says.
Based in the off-road hotbed of Las Vegas, Baldwin’s highlights
this past season included clinching first place at the Best in the
Desert (BITD) Parker 425, second place in Bobby’s truck at the
2010 SNORE Mint 400 (Southern Nevada Off-Road Enthusiasts), second
place overall at the BITD Blue Water Challenge Race in Parker,
Ariz., and a fourth-place finish in the SCORE Baja 1000 (Southern
California Off-Road Enthusiasts).
