Citing continued increases in the cost of raw materials, manufacturing and transportation, Yokohama is raising prices by up to 8 percent on all of its consumer tires, which include the passenger car, performance and light truck segments.

The increase goes into effect Dec. 1. There are also in-line adjustments that will be announced later.

“As always, Yokohama remains committed to bringing the best products to the market at competitive prices by integrating operational efficiencies, environmental procedures and the latest technology,” says sales director Shawn Denlein. “We do our best to control our costs, but the escalating costs of raw materials, manufacturing and transportation must, unfortunately, be assimilated in our product pricing.”

The last Yokohama price increase on consumer tires was in June.
