Running with renewed vigor via a partnership among Hoosier Racing Tire and Continental, driver Chris Rado and his World Racing Scion tC will be competing on Continental’s ExtremeContact tires in the Unlimited FWD class during this weekend’s Redline Time Attack Series at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif.

“The combination of Continental’s expertise is in performance street tires and Hoosier’s industry-leading technology in race tire development will be hard to beat,” says Continental marketing director Travis Roffler, “and putting a proven winner like Rado on our tires will make him a force to be reckoned with.”

Rado’s Scion tC was named Best Asian Import at the seventh annual Gran Turismo Awards ceremony held during the recent Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas.

The agreement between the two tire manufacturers aligns Continental and Hoosier as “strategic partners for advanced performance solutions and motorsports integration, including collaborative marketing, product development and implementation process,” Roffler reports. Both companies plan substantial investments in marketing, business development and tire technology.

“We’ve worked long and hard to bring this alliance with Hoosier Racing Tire to fruition,” he points out.

An infusion of funds from private investors is set to usher in “a new era” for the Redline Time Attack series. Beginning next month, co-founder and President Nikolas Malechikos will assume a full-time role working out of newly remodeled offices in Rosamond, Calif.

“For the first time, the sport of time attack will have a professionally managed and organized sanctioning body positioned to lead the sport,” according to Malechikos.

Joining the venture as executive vice president is Jackson Stewart, who has 30 years of professional racing experience. Malechikos says Stewart “will prove to be a valuable new asset to the series.”

An enhanced array of competition featuring “some of the wildest machines in North America competing against the clock” is on tap for 2010, he adds, expressing excitement over the upcoming Nov. 14-15 season finale. “This event promises to be the most competitive of the season, with a record turnout expected and fierce competition in the Unlimited, Modified, Street and Stock classes.”
