Rick Johnson of Team 71 Racing took first place in Trophy Truck and the overall win in the April 19 Best in the Desert Terrible’s 250. Riding on Grabber tires, Johnson tore through the grueling desert course in Primm, Nev. with a finish time of 3:43:18.
“We are so excited that Rick brought home this important win for General Tire,” says marketing director Travis Roffler. “He’s a stellar driver and a tough competitor, and we are fortunate to have him driving under Team GT’s colors.”
Johnson is equally effusive. “This was an incredible race, and I’m so proud of this win for Team General Tire,” he notes. “The course was tough, but the truck and the tires were in great shape the whole way. A finish like this is the reason why we race!”
Kent Kroeker of KORE Racing took second place in the Stock Full class at the event.
“There were eight trucks in the class – all the best drivers were there,” says Kroeker. “Stock full is such a competitive class, but the tires performed beautifully all day, and we’re proud to bring home a podium finish for General Tire.”
“Kent is a fierce competitor and he gives his all to every race he runs for us,” reports Tony Talbert, light truck product manager. “We are so proud to have KORE Racing as part of Team GT.”
