The Society of Collision Repair Specialists will hold the newest Repairer Roundtable from 8:30-11 a.m. in Atalanta, Ga., on April 8 before the start of CIC.

The morning meeting will feature a panel and live audience discussion. The topic will focus on safety and preventative measures collision repairers should be taking as the materials we work with - and our knowledge of them - evolve in the vehicles we see entering our shops. This can range from cleanliness habits to understanding metallurgical reactions different materials demonstrate to things such as heat, pulling, contamination or other environmental factors. The conversation will touch on considerations in preparing for future tools, fire suppression, dust and debris containment, protective equipment, and why certain practices and procedures aren't optional.

The panelist will discuss a variety of recommendations for preparation and preventative measures every shop should be looking at, whether they are diving into OEM aluminum certifications or working on ultra-high strength steels.

The panel will feature industry veterans Steve Marks, Industry Technical Support Manager at the I-CAR Tech Center; Ken Boylan, Global Training Manager for Chief Automotive Technologies; and Dave Gruskos, President of Reliable Automotive Equipment.

Audience members are encouraged to come prepared to pose questions and share experiences as well, transitioning the panel discussion presentation into a true roundtable discussion amongst those present. The event is open to all industry members that wish to learn from and support initiatives that foster a better informed industry, but we do request an RSVP to accommodate for space.
