Oct. 29, 2012 — Starting in November, CARSTAR locations across the U.S. will collect donations of new or gently used iPods, iPads, Nooks or Kindles in support of iPods for Wounded Warriors.
The charity organization is “dedicated to helping service men and women by providing a diversion and easing the boredom of recovery” for those injured in their duty, according to a release_notes from CARSTAR.
The donations will be distributed to rehabilitating troops in December.
Jim Marshall, owner of Marshall’s Autobody CARSTAR in Billerca, Mass., and a retired Air Force veteran, will serve as the company’s ambassador for the program, along with NASCAR analyst Jeff Hammond.
“People want to help, they just need the avenue and direction,” Marshall said in a press release. “The gift of an iPod, iPad, Nook or Kindle, or even magazines and books, provides much needed distraction from the grueling rehabilitation processes these soldiers face.”
