NABC creates two new awards

July 9, 2012

July 9, 2012—The National Auto Body Council (NABC) is retiring its long-standing Pride Award, and has instead created two new awards to recognize collision repair professionals.

It has created the Award of Distinction, which replaces the Pride Award. That award has been given for bravery, philanthropy, charity and selfless acts of kindness, according to a news release_notes. The Award of Distinction is broader in scope and aims to recognize any individual, business organization, or group employed in a collision industry-related segment such as a collision repair facility, vehicle manufacturer, supplier/vendor, educator, insurer, independent appraiser or trade association.

The NABC also created the Body Shop Image Award, which recognizes attractive, well-designed facilities and the positive impact the buildings have on their communities. Body shops eligible for this award will have made significant improvements to their interior and exterior appearance, according to a news release.

The council is also hoping to recognize those who perform good deeds on an ongoing basis.

“Anytime someone in the industry does something worthy of the award, we’d like to encourage folks to go the NABC website and fill out the form we provide,” said NABC board member Janet Chaney. “The individuals who are so recognized will be featured in our newsletter and automatically become nominees for the Award of Distinction.”

All award nominations must be submitted by Sept. 15. For more information about the awards, contact Kent Seavey, NABC award chairman, at 201-448-5158 or [email protected].
