There is no shortage of selfless individuals within the collision repair industry—people who won’t hesitate to put the needs of others first, who expend sometimes shocking amounts of energy helping to solve the problems of peers, who work tirelessly for the greater good.
We work with these industry professionals every day at FenderBender. Putting together this magazine each month wouldn’t be possible without those relationships and the contributions from individuals who want nothing more than to advance the industry.
It’s my privilege to announce that we’re taking one of those relationships to a new level this month. Industry consultant, trainer and former shop owner Mike Anderson of Collision Advice has joined the FenderBender team as an exclusive monthly columnist. Mike, who lives out of a suitcase the majority of the year as he travels the country helping shop operators improve their businesses, is probably known by most of you. I’m sure he’s personally helped many of you. His new column, “On the Business,” will help broaden his reach even further.
Each month, Mike will address real collision repair challenges as posed by the many shops he works with and FenderBender readers. To kick things off this month, he shared his own list of industry issues that need addressing—his wish list for 2016. The need for pre- and post-repair vehicle scanning, clearer paint materials definitions, and a better rekeying solution are among the items he discusses.
For a deeper dive into Mike’s wish list, you can also listen to him this month on our first CollisionCast podcast. We’ll have a different expert on the podcast each month to tackle some of the industry’s biggest issues. I hope you enjoy the way associate editor Bryce Evans and Mike kicked off this new initiative, and that you find value in Mike’s column this year.
