Volkswagen offers shop certification program to U.S. body shops

July 6, 2010—U.S. dealer-affiliated and independent collision repair shops can now become VW-certified, according to a Volkswagen of America Inc. press release_notes.

The program requires that repairers meet the company’s high safety standards and be trained to use Volkswagen tools, technologies and equipment. Volkswagen will also provide free 24-hour towing to customers of certified shops.

Shops that are interested in becoming certified, or to nominate a shop, go to vw.com. Volkswagen will also list shops on this site as they become certified.
