May 9, 2018—Ford faces a complete production halt of its F-150 pickups after a fire at a parts manufacturer, reported USA Today.
A fire at Meridian Magnesium Products in Eaton Rapids, Mich., on May 2, caused a disruption, according to the report.
A Ford company spokeswoman, Kelly Felker, confirmed to USA Today, that the truck side of the Ford Kansas City Assembly Plant in Mo., shut down this week because of the fire. About 3,600 workers were sent home.
A decision is pending on when or if the Dearborn, Mich., truck plant will shut down, which would affect another 4,000 workers, said the report.
