GM to Launch More Zero-Emissions Vehicles by 2023

July 2, 2018

General Motors announced recently it will increase production of its Bolt hatchback this year.

July 2, 2018—According to General Motors sustainability report, the company said it will launch more than 20 new zero-emissions vehicles in global markets by 2023, reported Providence Journal.

GM is committed to an all-EV future, according to the report. GM spokesman Tony Cervone said the demand for the Bolt is strong and the U.S will get more of the cars towards the end of 2018.

The GM sustainability report that was presented in conjunction with the company's annual shareholder meeting last week, said GM now has 180 autonomous vehicles in test fleets in San Francisco, Phoenix and Detroit.

At the end of May 2018, GM and SoftBank Vision Fund teamed up to invest in GM Cruise. The investments are expected to provide the necessary capital to reach commercialization of autonomous vehicles "at scale" beginning in 2019.
