The lawsuit alleged that some Lincoln and Ford vehicles had defective door latches that caused sensors to malfunction, according to Law360.com.
Back in March, a California federal judge had trimmed some claims that alleged certain Ford vehicles were sold with a door latch defect that caused “door ajar” warnings that prevent doors from locking. However, at that juncture the judge did agree with the plaintiffs that Ford’s failure to disclose the alleged door latch defect was a material omission. According to topclassactions.com, the plaintiffs claimed that they wouldn’t have purchased their Ford vehicles if the auto manufacturer had disclosed the door latch defect.
