NSF International Halts Parts Certification Programs

Health Organization NSF International announced on Thursday that it will soon discontinue its Automotive Parts Certification program and affiliated automotive certification and registration programs.

June 24, 2019—Global public health organization NSF International on Thursday noted that it plans to discontinue its automotive parts certification program and associated automotive certification and registration programs as of Sept. 30. 

"Ultimately, we are choosing to focus on programs and services that are more directly aligned with our longterm, strategic vision for the organization," said Lori Bestervelt, executive vise president and chief technical officer for NSF International, in a press release. 

NSF certified parts that meet all applicable NSF certification requirements and are manufactured on or before Sept. 30 will be considered NSF certified for the lifetime of the part. Manufacturers of NSF parts are allowed to continue selling inventories of NSF certified parts after Sept. 30 as long as the parts meet all requirements and were manufactured on or before Sept. 30.

Parts manufactured after Sept. 30 will not be certified, or eligible to be certified. For more information, contact [email protected]
