The Collision Repair Education Foundation (CREF) has announced John Eck, head of product and accident assistance of General Motors’ Global Strategy & Innovation Future Digital Products, as the newest addition to the CREF Board of Directors, according to a press release.
Eck brings over 30 years of experience working in the aftermarket industry, having previously held roles at GM in field sales, marketing, and management across several business segments in the United States, Canada, and South Africa.
Eck served as the Collision manager for GM Customer Care and Aftersales for eight years, where he managed parts strategies, developed and executed innovative programs, and strengthened industry relationships.
In April 2022, Eck then received his current title within the Global Innovation team as the head of product and accident assistance. In this role, he works to improve the customer’s ownership experience as well as develops methods to promote revenue and retention.
During his time with GM, Eck helped to launch MyPriceLink, a pricing engine with the capability to run on multiple algorithms and process multiple variables of an estimate.
Alongside his work, Eck has served two terms on the I-CAR Board of Director’s Strategic Planning and Finance Committees, served as president and chairman of the board for the OEM Roundtable from 2017-2020, and is an active participant on the CIC Governance Committee, two CIECA committees, SCRS, IBIS and OEC Advanced Repair Logic.
