A recent study provided by Glass Doctor has looked at what are the safest and most dangerous car brands across the country.

A recent study provided by Glass Doctor has looked at what the safest and most dangerous car brands across the country are.

The study analyzed data on fatal crashes from the NHTSA that spans from 2011 through 2020. An estimate of how many vehicles populate each state and in the country overall was made based on Car Sales Base market share data.

German automaker Audi came in number one on the list of safest brands, having only 0.54 fatal crashes per 1,000 drivers. Following close behind was Subaru, with 0.55 fatal crashes per 1,000 drivers, and Mercedes-Benz in third place had a number of 0.75 crashes.

The study also looks at the brands involved with the most crashes, with Dodge being placed at the top of the most dangerous car brands. The American automaker displayed 4.03 fatal crashes per 1,000 drivers over the decade.

In second place came Mitsubishi, with 2.78 fatal crashes per 1,000 drivers. Buick trails behind with 2.71 in fatal crashes.
