September 10, 2018—A Tesla Semi prototype has been driving around the country to apparently visit companies who have reserved the electric truck and as part of its test program, reported Electrek.
Last week, Electrek reported that the Tesla Semi prototype was now in Des Moines, Iowa – more than 300 miles from UPS.
Later, the electric truck prototype traveled another 580 miles or so and stopped at Tesla’s Supercharger station in Brush, Co.
Now the truck has made it another 500+ miles to Salt Lake City, Utah.
The prototype is configured with a range of 300 miles on a single charge, according to the report. The regular production version for the 300-mile and 500-mile range versions will be $150,000 and $180,000 respectively, while the company is also listing a "Founders Series" version for $200,000.
According to Electrek, it appears that the vehicle toured the midwest and it is now making its way back to California – having likely traveled well over 3,000 miles on the trip.
