July 18, 2018—Tesla has announced that its Model 3 is now open to all for sale in North America.

However, the Model 3 currently available for purchase is not the typical $35,000 base model, and, as a result, consumers should expect to pay approximately $50,000, minimum, for upgraded configurations, according to CNBC.

With a $2,500 deposit toward the cost of the new Tesla, customers can purchase a Model 3 and have it delivered within 1-3 months, the company said. The Model 3 is Tesla executive Elon Musk’s attempt to make a mass-market sedan.

The EV manufacturer has been hurrying to increase production of the model, on which its short-term financial success depends. However, the usual $7,500 rebate for EV purchases is nearing its expiration for consumers, making the timing of an EV purchase somewhat complicated, CNBC noted.
